Year Six SATs Parent Meeting - Key Information:
Key dates:
SATs week Monday 13th May-Thursday 16th May
Home expectations:
Homework must be completed, as it is a useful tool to build upon classroom learning. At this stage of the year, your children will be receiving targeted revision to boost their confidence in specific areas of learning.
Children must be coming to school ready to learn. This means going to bed at a reasonable time, eating a healthy breakfast in the morning and bringing all relevant resources in on the right days. This is vital preparation for secondary schools.
Receiving results:
After the SATs, children will receive scaled scores. The expected standard will be a score of 100.
Scores of above or below 100 will show pupils who are exceeding or not meeting the expected standard. Each pupil registered for the tests will receive: a raw score, a scaled score and confirmation of whether or not he/she met the expected standard.
Preparation:
Please encourage your child to eat well, get plenty of sleep and revise in small chunks in the run up to SATs. During SATs week, we will be providing a free breakfast club for all Y6 children. This is a perfect opportunity for the children to talk to their friends and teachers, play games, relax and prepare themselves for the day with a balanced healthy breakfast.
